Nokia Releases Nokia X, the X+ and XL First Android Phones to the Market

Changing market trends and high competition for innovation in the mobile market has forced Nokia to manufacture its first model of Android phones that are now called the Nokia X, the X+ and XL. The launching for official market sale was held in Barcelona, Spain. The X+ has a 4-inch screen and will be sold for 99 Euros while XL has a 5-inch screen and is set to be sold for 109 Euros. Nokia was previously only manufacturing phones with Windows operating systems but their incompatibility with many applications has limited its use unlike other phones that have the Android operating systems that have an application store with over 700,000 applications. Windows OS are also very difficult to use due to the technicalities involved and this draws away first time users to the Android OS that is easier to use.

Nokia X, the X+ and XL

Although Nokia will not abandon the manufacture of Windows phones, the company is set to reduce the number it manufactures; especially the Lumia phones. Nokia hopes to attract more market for the three designs it has released. Although it has introduced it seems that Nokia’s main focus is on applications rather than the preferred cloud services and this will mean that Nokia X users will have to use Microsoft cloud services. However, lack of an easily accessible Google play store for applications will be a limitation in the market sales, as they require someone with some technical abilities. The Android will have the normal applications plus Nokia’s Here maps and a mix radio app. Users will also be awarded with free Skype calls for a whole month and a One Drive cloud storage which is most beneficial to new users.

Camera features in most Nokia phones have been applauded due to the high quality photos and videos that they are able to produce. The Asha 500 has a 2MP camera and sells for $69 while Nokia 502 and 503 cost $89 and $99 respectively but they both pose a 5 MP camera. Nokia Asha 501, which comes in different colors including black, cyan, yellow, white and red processes a 3-inch screen plus a 3.2 MP camera. Sometime ago Nokia launched a tablet called the Lumia 2520 which was one of its kind and its length was about 10.1 inches.

Employees of Nokia, who are about 32,000, are set to receive orders from Microsoft that is located in Washington as the company is set to buy Nokia’s business for a deal approximated to be worth about 5.4 billion Euros.
