ASSALAM-U-ALAIKUM,
Muhammad Mahmood Alam was an North American Aviation F-86 Sabre flying ace and an air commodore, who served with the Pakistan Air Force. He was also awarded the Sitara-e-Jurat (“The star of courage”). He emerged as a hero in 1965 war when he set a record of destroying 4 of indian air crafts in less than 30 seconds and 5 in less than a minute and thus is called as 1965 war hero. He also excelled in gunnery competition. He was born in British India in July 6, 1935 in calcutta. He passed his high school in 1951 joined air force in 1952 and got commision on 2 oct,1953.
Heroes like him can never be forgotten. And passion like him is wanted in the present Pakistan. He and other soldiers and even common people at that time truely loved Pakistan and did whatever they can for this country.
MM Alam was admitted to hospital in Dec due to bad health and was under treatment until then, and today on monday 18 March,2013 he passed away at the age of 78 but he will be ever alive in our hearts. We can never forget him and our other brave soldiers like him. They are our real heroes and always will be.
