ENGLISH 2ND YEAR:
Lesson 11: THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A HUMAN BRAIN AND A COMPUTER
Q1. What makes the human brain more complex than a computer?
Ans. The cells and the neurons and their complicated interconnection in the brain of a man make it more complex than a computer. A human brain contains billions of cells that work in it. On the other hand, a computer has hardly 1000 switches and parts.
Q2. Can a computer be built that would duplicate the human brain?explain your answer.
Ans. Yes, it can be, but this requires a very long time. A computer machine containing billions of parts (switches etc.) can act like a human brain. But at present it looks impossible for man to build such a complex super-computer.
Q3. What processes of the human brain can be duplicated by a computer?
Ans. The complex structure of the human brain can be duplicated by a computer. But it cannot be given creativity, such as devising a scientific theory or giving an ethical judgment.
Q4. Can a computer be creative? Explain your answer.
Ans. No, it can’t create anything but it just follows something which fed into it. Computer can’t differentiate between a truth and a lie. It can’t even give the answer which doesn’t resembles its programming.
Q5. What might happen to humanity if a computer were built that could surpass the human brain?
Ans.If a computer were built that could surpass the human brain, then humans ought to step aside gracefully and hand over the jobs to computers. Otherwise computers will push beings to get their social, economic and religious problems solved by a computer.
