    FILL IN THE BALANKS

    1. “learning to write in college” is written by Russell Baker
    2. Mr. fleagle was notorious among city students for dullness and inability to inspire.
    3. He was said to be stuffy, dull, and hopelessly out of date
    4. To me he looked to be sixty or seventy and prim to a fault
    5. I anticipated a listless, unfruitful year with Mr.fleagle.
    6. He constantly sprinkled his sentences with, “don’t you see!”
    7. Off all forms of writing, none seems as boring as the essay
    8. I took the list home and dawdled until the night before the essay was due.
    9. The topic on which my eye stopped was “the art of eating spaghetti”.
    10. There was no choice next morning, but to turn in my private reminiscence of Belleville
